The male birds of paradise have spectacular plumage that they use to attract mates. They also have different rituals that are preformed for the females. The Birds of Paradise Project has produced two National Geographic stories, a 1 hour documentary on the National Geographic Channel, a traveling interactive exhibit and a beautiful coffee table book. The bower can be simple as some leaves around a sapling to elaborate as a large dome made of sticks. They decorate the court around the bower with different objects to attract females.
