Birds of Paradise 62 images Created 9 Oct 2009
The Birds of Paradise are a family of birds found in the New Guinea region that have evolved the most varied and most elaborate plumes and display behaviors in the bird world. The male birds of paradise have spectacular plumage that they use to attract mates. They also have different rituals that are preformed for the females. The Birds of Paradise Project has produced two National Geographic stories, a 1 hour documentary on the National Geographic Channel, a traveling interactive exhibit and a beautiful coffee table book.
